Gol Gappay

Gol Gappay also known as “panipuri” is basically a dish of Gujrati origin. It is a popular street snack all over Asia especially Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri-Lanka. A Gol gappay or panipuri stand is a common sight in Pakistan or Indian streets. A small round, hollow puri is filled with assortments like Tamarind, boiled potatoes, chickpeas, green chutney(spicy) along with anything else that you want. It is placed in the mouth and eaten in one go. The ingredients put inside the puri, vary from region to region. It is served with¬†flavored¬†water which can be either spicy or bittersweet. Tamarind in water also known as “imli ka pani” is a common choice apart from Lemon juice in water (nimbu ka pani), dates in water, (khajur k pani) and mint in water(pudinay ka pani). This particular recipe deals with Gol Gappay served with tamarind water.
